The Violinist

          Nominated three years in a row for the Brazilian International Press Award as the best musician promoting Brazilian music in the U.S. (2009, 2010, 2011 Editions), Dr. Maluh De Felice's primary interest has been to search and to perform Brazilian Chamber Music from the 19th and 20th centuries which is rarely played, some being, before her research, completely unknown to the public. She was a member for many years of "Quartet Trésor," performing, among others, Brazilian chamber music from different eras.

        As violinist for ten years of the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra (1990 - 1999), Dr. De Felice performed an average of 90 different programs a year. With this orchestra, she played along renowned soloists such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingos, Jose Carreras, Nelson Freire, Antonio Menezes, Dimitri Sitkovetsky, and Jean-Pierre Rampal. She performed under the direction of some of the most acclaimed conductors of the 20th century, such as Kurt Masur. She was also a violinist of the Rio de Janeiro Opera and Ballet Theater (1995-1996), Orchestra Petrobrás Pró-Música of Rio de Janeiro (1994-1999), and the Miami City Ballet (2010-2017). 

 

        Dr. Maluh De Felice constantly played for over one-million people audience at Copacabana Beach and Quinta da Boa Vista Park in Rio de Janeiro. Among these performances, there was a variety of Complete Operas, Ballets and Symphonic Repertoire at the Aquarius Project, which included playing under the baton of George Martin, The Beatles' producer and arranger, the American Ballet Theatre and the Bolshoi Ballet. She toured Brazil (1997-1998) with the orchestra that accompanied Gal Costa, the renowned singer from the late 1960's Brazilian Pop Music period "Tropicália", and she was the concertmaster of the orchestra that accompanied Zizi Possi, in the show "Per Amore"  in Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro (1998).
